Waidurya was born from a deeply personal place, a love for the richness of ethnic heritage and a desire to make it feel alive, relevant, and beautifully wearable for the modern woman. Gamya, the creative director and soul of Waidurya, was born in Sri Lanka and raised in Australia which gave her a unique blend in fashion exposure. She always sought something more, a way to honour the legacy of ethnic wear while reimagining it for the world she lived in.
What started as a creative vision became a calling. Gamya founded Waidurya Mumbai, where she was living at the time with a singular mission, to bridge the gap between the timeless and the contemporary, and to create pieces that women would not just wear, but truly feel.
